Everyone claims to have original parts and devices available, but no one knows where these parts come from. The number of vendors available is endless. End-users love the quality that comes with original parts and all vendors claim to carry them. However, this is often untrue and as a result, people find themselves buying fake or stolen items. It is up to distributors to implement quality control processes that prevent this from happening.
The main problem is that most of the products that come from China are not described accurately. It is difficult to tell if the parts are genuine or fake. It’s almost impossible to track original parts because their origin is unknown. It is the job of the distributor to make sure the items are exactly as advertised and sometimes they don’t get it right.
Nexus Cellular Takes Pride in Carrying Original Parts
We at Nexus do not carry any fake or stolen products. We are extremely strict when it comes to the parts we supply. Every preventative measure has been taken to ensure mistakes do not occur.
The chain of custody for all original reclaimed parts is important in determining whether vendors are supplying OEM parts or not. Our vendors are selected only after an extensive vetting process, ensuring that only high-quality products are supplied.
Nexus Cellular Quality Processes
Internal processes have also been put in place to identify product quality and ensure products are as described. From the vendors we use to the in-house inspections we perform, quality is assured at all times.
Our Work Instruction Document (WID) is vital to ensuring products are original. These documents are used as reference points by our technicians to cross-check what is expected from an original part against the part that has been received.
One of our OEM-factory-trained workers uses the Work Instruction Document (WID) to make sure all part components are passable during the inspection process. These skilled technicians have experience with original parts and can identify them with ease. They check for markings on flex cables, a QR code on the back of an LCD, and other known manufacturer markings to determine if the part is original. This enables them to diligently identify and quickly test our products to guarantee quality.
The Work Instruction Document is specific to part type. For example, charging flex cables and displays have different markings on them directly from the manufacturer and need different checks to be properly identified. Devices undergo a 45-point inspection to make sure that it is fully functional and the software is authentic.
There are tools to help distributors who sell refurbished phones stay safe and informed. However, most are unaware of the websites available to them or don’t bother to check.
“The site works by looking up a device’s IMEI, MEID, or ESN — unique codes that get assigned to every phone. These are sometimes printed on the back of phones, like the iPhone, but in other cases they can be found somewhere deep in the settings menu.”

Devices are easier to recognize whether they are completely original or have been modified. Part replacements are a lot harder to recognize and each distributor needs processes in place in order to ensure that items that are received are the items that are being advertised.
We at Nexus Cellular understand that quality is of utmost importance and we have been following our in house documentation for many years now. We assure all of our clients wholeheartedly that they are getting the best products. Where are you buying phone parts from?
